A quick guide to reading whale trades, wallet quality, and market context before treating a Polymarket move as signal.

The short version
A large Polymarket trade is only useful when you understand the wallet behind it. Smart money research means reading size, timing, track record, and market context together.
1. Start with wallet quality
Look for consistent PnL, reasonable win-rate signals, recent activity, and markets where the wallet has shown repeatable judgment instead of one lucky outcome.
2. Check conviction
Position size matters, but size alone is not signal. Compare the trade to the wallet’s typical behavior and the liquidity of the market.
3. Watch timing
A trade before a price move can be more useful than a trade after the crowd has already repriced the outcome. Recency and sequence matter.
4. Keep the disclaimer in mind
Wallets can be wrong, stale, hedged, or operating with information you cannot see. Smart money context is research, not a trading instruction.
